Brook Hill Farm

Volunteer Opportunities

United Neigh
Brook Hill farm founded an innovativeBrook Hill Farm United Neigh members program called United Neigh 10 years ago. This program, open to adults and youth ages 12 and over, trains its members in basic horse care and riding skills. These members spend three afternoons each week at the farm aiding in the horses' rehabilitation and helping with the farm upkeep. Riding lessons are provided weekly for the members from a licensed trainer for a nominal fee. For information on the United Neigh program contact:

Community Outreach
Brook Hill farm provides opportunities for members of the local community to learn about and interact with horses. We have provided educational programs for 4-H, pony club, disabled persons, troubled youth, home school groups, and scout troops. Groups are welcome by appointment to come and learn about the horses and their rehabilitation.

College Internships

We currently work with local colleges to provide internships for college credit. College pre-veterinary students are given the opportunity to see first-hand many health issues and therapies affecting sport horses. We are currently participating in two ongoing studies: one is a lab identification of bacteria cultured from an infected hoof, and the second one is a study of equine personality and how it influences herd behavior and interactions.
