We now offer our Horse Sponsorship Program, which gives you the opportunity to help horses that are in need of special care--they need supplements, medicines, vet care, or just time to recover and rehabilitate. Others are difficult to place with a new family because they are no longer rideable--they need long-term support for everyday living expenses. Due to the high costs of horse ownership, many people are not interested in adopting a companion horse. With your help, Brook Hill Farm provides a sanctuary for these horses, protecting them from the horrible realities of slaughter and ensuring their lifelong security and well-being. No amount is too small, and will aid the farm in continuing its mission of rehabilitating and providing lifelong care to horses in need!
Of course you are welcome to visit and help care for your sponsored horse. If you would like a personal picture or updates on your sponsored horse, please fill out our sponsorship form and return it with a donation to Brook Hill Farm 7289 Bellevue Rd Forest VA 24551. Alias
So much I cannot tell you – here at the farm they call me Alias, as my past is very secretive. I was donated to the program and leased out to a girl who became my partner and best friend. We competed in Virginia, winning many first place ribbons in the Child Amateur jumper division. All things do come to an end, as my rider went off to college. I am now 21, and have returned to Brook Hill Farm to retire. I now have a new job, keeping all of the younger horses in line. I am one of the lucky ones; my girl comes and sees me over break, bringing peppermints and love. I do need a sponsor, as now that she is in college, she has no means to contribute to my welfare. Brook Hill Farm kept its promise, and is taking care of me for the rest of my life. So please sponsor me, so that I too do not take money away from helping others!
Sirus
Life was perfect; I was trained by the best, and had a wonderful owner. Unfortunately I did not remain sound for the work we were doing, and I was donated to a college program. Red Snapper was my name – until I decided that I was unhappy and decided to bite – I was then passed on to Brook Hill Farm. They changed my name, and with kindness and the love of one little girl, I stopped my biting. I am now in my mid twenties, and am fully retired. I love my life here, grazing on the fields with my friends, not worrying about having to perform. Can you sponsor me so that I too, am not a burden to the mission of the farm that saved my sanity?
MiMi
Fast, quick, bursts of energy, and speed. That is what is required of a polo horse. I was one of the best, competing at the national level. Unfortunately I got too old and lame to compete, and I was donated to Brook Hill Farm. I am the most loving of all, because I know that I am of no use to anyone, and I want them to continue to care for me. Please sponsor me, and I will be glad for you to visit so I can say thank-you in my gentle way!
