Educational Opportunities abound at Brook Hill Farm. Not only is it important to rehabilitate unwanted horses, it is also our responsibility to educate the public on the plight of the unwanted horse. Brook Hill Farm maintains a unique opportunity for personal growth and equine education for area youth and adults.

College Interns
Educational opportunities in collaboration with regional schools including Virginia Tech, Randolph College, Lynchburg College, Sweet Briar, and Liberty University are provided for college students to participate in internships earning them college credit in the following fields: Animal Sciences, Animal Psychology, Biology, Education, Special Education, Business and Communications, and Pre-Veterinary Studies. College Course Offerings
Brook Hill Farm offers Introduction to the Horse at Central Virginia Community College, a course providing basic information on anatomy, physiology, nutrition, care and diseases of the horse.
Please go to Central VA Comunity College's website to learn about class times and cost. We will use the book Equine Science by Jean T. Griffiths.

New Horse Owners
New Horse Owners with no experience are provided education on how to properly care for a horse, before they take a horse home. This program is immensely popular, and provides new horse owners with the knowledge needed to provide excellent care for their new companion.

Community Outreach
Brook Hill Farm partners with existing programs such as the Salvation Army, Alliance for Families and Children, Boy and Girl Scouts, Church groups, School Groups and others to provide a hands-on one day educational program in basic horse care and knowledge, that creates community awareness of the plight of the unwanted horse.
